The annual Scona Classic took place Thursday October 19th - October 21st.
Thanks to everyone who showed up to cheer on the numerous teams!
School Council is a vehicle to support meaningful parent involvement in decisions that affect the school and its operations.
It is also a platform used for parents to collaborate effectively to support and enhance student learning.
All parents are encouraged to attend. Meetings will be held at Student Services from 7-9 PM.
Following are the meeting dates for the upcoming school year 2017-18:
October 18th, 2017 - How to support your child in high school.
November 22nd, 2017 - Rod Anderson - Edmonton Metro Instructor will present "A Parent's Guide to Stress Management and Exam Anxiety in Teens"
December - No Meeting
January 17th, 2018 - Mariah Schroder - First Nations, Metis, Inuit Support Teacher will discuss how she and Edmonton Public Schools support Indigenous students.
February 21st, 2018 - High School by Redesign
April 18th, 2018 - Discussion will center on the legalization of marijuana
Strathcona Staff invite you to attend our Meet the Teacher Night on Thursday, September 21st beginning at 6:00pm. The evening will begin with a welcome and high school overview from Principal Van Ginhoven followed by a short presentation by our Administrative Team, School Council and Students' Union President. Then, get ready to "walk in the shoes of your teenager" as parents follow their son or daughter's Day 1 / Day 2 timetable to meet our teachers and learn about our courses.

Activation of Spanish Bilingual program at Strathcona School
As a result of growing enrolment, the high school District site for the Spanish Bilingual program (International Spanish Academy) will be activated at Strathcona School, effective September 2017.
Each year, hundreds of Strathcona students immerse themselves in Advanced Placement classes, pursuing deeper understanding of everything from English Literature to European History, Computer Science to Calculus, Studio Art to Statistics.Read more...
