Arts
The Scona Fine and Performing Arts department is a group of practicing artist/educators who continue to train and work in the arts. These educators through their classes aim to foster a community of interdisciplinary learning enriched by meaningful experiences with the arts. The Arts faculty values the transferable skills attained through a fine arts education by inspiring the creative activity, artistic and scholarly exploration, and critical analysis integral to advancing society. The arts are a bridge to so many facets of life.
We are grateful to be telling stories on land that we are merely settlers on. Thank you to the Treaty Six keepers of this time and space for the many stories that have come before these ones. To the Blackfoot, Metis, Cree, Salteaux, Dene and Nakota Sioux we are grateful to you the knowledge keepers and story-tellers who we continue to learn from.
