Spanish Bilingual Program

We are pleased to be the only high school in Edmonton Public Schools to offer the Spanish Bilingual Program. Students will receive 25 credits and a High School Spanish Bilingual diploma certifying their achievement with Edmonton Public Schools at the completion of the program.

Since the entry point for the Spanish Bilingual program is kindergarten or grade 1, only students who have completed the junior high Spanish bilingual program are able to enter the program in high school to ensure their success at the high school level. Students who were in the bilingual program up to grade 6 but opted to withdraw at the junior high level may be eligible for participation in the Spanish Language and Culture stream. Teacher assessment is required for native speakers who are not coming from a junior high bilingual program.

All students in the bilingual program will take Spanish Language Arts 10, 20, 30 as well as Social Studies 10 and CALM 20 in Spanish. International accreditation will be offered to bilingual program students during their grade 11 and 12 years: The Spanish AP Language and Culture Exam and the DELE language proficiency exam.
